Viewing your breathehr calendar in Outlook

Customers are already enjoying the power and ease of use when using  Breathe HR’s hosted HR system  and are finding out how effortlessly its replacing  their old existing manual systems. But what they might not know is that some of that information can synced directly into their  Outlook calendars.

Line managers who want to check who in the department is out of the office this month can simply check the calendar from within from within Outlook without the need to log into BreatheHR.

 

Creating an departmental Internet breathe calendar link

This procedure is only available to admins and HR users of the breathe system

Log on to breathe and from the main menu choose Configure, Settings and Calendar subscriptions

 

Depending on how you use email as a company, choose the option that best fits your needs

Allowing employees to manage their own calendars is available to view individual calendars, users of Exchange/Office365 or Google apps choose Manage calendar subscriptions centrally

 Click the + button to create a URL link to a calendar.

Depending on your departmental setup, you can choose individual departments as below, a full  company calendar URL is already created for you use.

Choose the required department and click “create calendar subscription

A link to departmental calendar will be created and added to your subscription list ready for use in Google calendar or Outlook.

The format of link will be as follows

https://yourcompany.breathehr.com/ozyKrvDteOJF45DADAS34evfcnq3445hj45zUblc/7845/calendar.ics

 Copy this newly created link ready for posting into your calendar.

 

Adding a breathe calendar to Outlook

In  Outlook, click into Calendar then right click on My Calendars or Other Calendars


Choose From Internet 


and paste the Internet calendar link you previously copied.

A new calendar will appear under the group calendar heading you chose, you can now right click on it and rename it to something more familiar.

Adding a breathe calendar to Google

The process is similar to adding a calendar in Outlook, so first off go to your Google calendar


and click  add a colleagues calendar, the choose From URL


Paste the Internet calendar link you previously copied.

The new calendar will appear under Other Calendars , clicking on the 3 dot menu and choosing Settings will allow you to rename the calendar to something more familiar.
